"This card was purchased on eBay over a decade ago and has been tucked away in a private collection since then" Lelands Auctions said

Getting into specifics, the record setting card was a 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Rookie Ticket #144 Tom Brady Rookie Autograph card and it sold for a whopping $2,252,854. With this recent auction sale, the Brady card recorded the highest price ever paid for a football card.
